Dana Riel is the President and Founder of Business Solutions, Incorporated. She is a graduate of Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., with a bachelor degree in foreign affairs and holds a second degree in accounting. She is a Certified Consultant for Sage Software for their line of products, including Timeslips by Sage and Peachtree Accounting by Sage. She holds the distinction of receiving the first “Certified Consultant of the Year” award from TIMESLIPS Corporation in 1995. Other awards are “Outstanding Performance” (1996, 1998, 2001), “#1 East Region Certified Consultant” (2001, 2008), “Partners in Support Excellence Award” (2003) and “TimeSheet Professional Dealer of the Year” (1998). Ms. Riel served as a Charter Member of the Timeslips Certified Consultant Steering Committee for the years 1999-2001, the Timeslips Business Partner Advisory Council (2007 – 2011), and presently serves on the PCLaw Advisory Board for LexisNexis (2012 – present).
Ms. Riel is also a Professional Advisor for Intuit Software Corp. (the makers of Quicken & QuickBooks QuickBooks Pro for Windows), a Certified Independent Consultant for Time Matters and PCLaw, by LexisNexis Corporation; a Certified Partner for NetDocuments; and a Certified Consultant/Certified Accounting Partner for Cosmolex. She has provided training services to organizations such as Xerox Corporation, Campbell’s Soup Company, the City of Seattle, the National Trust for Historic Preservation, the DOD Defense Logistics Agency, Judge Advocate General’s Office (JAG)/Department of the Navy, North Carolina State University, University of the District of Columbia School of Law, U.S. Department of Commerce and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
Ms. Riel has been a lecturer for the Washington DC SCORE Division of the Small Business Administration, providing instruction in “Business Factors” and “Business Recordkeeping & Taxes” for the chapter’s “Pre-Business Workshop” series. She has also been a panel participant for the 26-week business lecture series “M.Y.O.B.”, sponsored by the American Women’s Economic Development Corporation and RJR Nabisco Corporation. In 2009, she participated in the series of day-long seminars sponsored by the District of Columbia Bar Association Practice Management Section, titled “Basic Training: Learn About Running a Law Office”. Ms. Riel is also an adjunct professor in Georgetown University’s Paralegal Studies Program, having taught the course, “Legal Ethics/Legal Technology” for the Summer Semester, 2009; and “Legal Technology” for the Spring & Summer Semesters, 2010.
